Our analysis looked at 2,122 schools in the United States to see which programs were the most popular for nursing students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from the Nursing program at each school on the list.

Our 2023 rankings named Western Governors University the most popular school in the United States for nursing students. WGU is a fairly large private not-for-profit school located in the large suburb of Salt Lake City.
While working on their degree, nursing majors at WGU accumulate an average of around $21,420 in student debt.

Out of the 2,122 schools in the United States that were part of this year’s ranking, Chamberlain University - Illinois landed the # 2 spot on the list. Chamberlain - Illinois is a very large private for-profit school located in the suburb of Addison.
