Our 2023 rankings named University of New Mexico - Main Campus the most popular school in New Mexico for nursing students working on their graduate certificate. UNM is a public institution located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The school has a large population, and it awarded 77 graduate certificates in 2021-2022.
Of those students who received their degree, 79% were women.
UNM does have options available for those who want to take online graduate classes. You will need to check with the school to see if they are available for your specific major. Of all the graduate students enrolled at the school during the 2020-2021 academic year, around 41% took at least some of their classes online.
Out of the 3 schools in New Mexico that were part of this year’s ranking, New Mexico State University - Main Campus landed the # 2 spot on the list. This fairly large public school is located in Las Cruces, New Mexico, and it awarded 53 graduate certificates in 2021-2022.
Of those students who received their degree, 68% were women.
One thing to take note of is that NMSU Main Campus does offer online graduate classes in some areas. Of all the graduate students enrolled at the school during the 2020-2021 academic year, around 62% took at least some of their classes online.

Out of the 3 schools in New Mexico that were part of this year’s ranking, Western New Mexico University landed the # 2 spot on the list. Located in Silver City, New Mexico, the small public school awarded 152 diplomas to qualifed graduate certificate students in 2021-2022.
Graduate Certificate recipients from Western New Mexico University accumulate an average of $38,336 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Around 84% of those degree recipients were women.
If you are interested in distance education, be sure to check with the school since Western New Mexico University does offer online graduate classes for certain majors. To give an idea of how popular online courses are at the school, 97% of graduates took at least one course online in 2020-2021.
