Our analysis found Western Governors University to be the most popular school for nursing students who want to pursue a master’s degree in Utah. Western Governors University is a large private not-for-profit school located in Salt Lake City, Utah that handed out 19,615 master’s degrees in 2021-2022.
On average, master’s degree students take out $12,948 in loans while pursuing their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 70% were women.
If you are interested in distance education, WGU is an excellent choice, since graduate classes are offered online.
Out of the 9 schools in Utah that were part of this year’s ranking, Westminster College Utah landed the # 2 spot on the list. Westminster College Salt Lake is a private not-for-profit institution located in Salt Lake City, Utah. The school has a small population, and it awarded 183 master’s degrees in 2021-2022.

You’ll be in good company if you attend University of Utah. The school came in at #4 on this year’s Most Popular Nursing Master’s Degree Schools in Utah list. Located in Salt Lake City, Utah, the large public school awarded 2,265 diplomas to qualifed master’s degree students in 2021-2022.
On average, master’s degree students take out $39,369 in loans while pursuing their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 48% were women.
U of U does have options available for those who want to take online graduate classes. You will need to check with the school to see if they are available for your specific major. In 2020-2021 about 40% of the graduate students at the school chose to take one or more online courses.
The excellent master’s degree programs at Brigham Young University - Provo helped the school earn the #5 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular nursing schools in Utah. Located in Provo, Utah, the large private not-for-profit school awarded 1,126 diplomas to qualifed master’s degree students in 2021-2022.
Master’s Degree recipients from BYU accumulate an average of $25,369 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 45% were women.
You may have the opportunity to take online graduate classes at BYU. During the 2020-2021 year, about 20% of the graduate students at the school took at least one online course.
Eagle Gate College - Murray ranked #6 on this year’s Most Popular Nursing Master’s Degree Schools in Utah list. This very small private for-profit school is located in Murray, Utah, and it awarded 19 master’s degrees in 2021-2022.

Utah Valley University did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for nursing students to get a master’s degree. It came in at #6 on the list. Orem, Utah is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out master’s degrees to 326 students in 2021-2022.
Master’s Degree recipients from UVU accumulate an average of $22,265 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Around 47% of those degree recipients were women.
UVU does offer online graduate classes for certain degree levels. To give an idea of how popular online courses are at the school, 42% of graduates took at least one course online in 2020-2021.
Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for nursing students to get a master’s degree. It came in at #8 on the list. RMUoHP is a small private for-profit school situated in Provo, Utah. It awarded 93 master’s degrees in 2021-2022.
On average, master’s degree students take out $116,996 in loans while pursuing their degree. Around 68% of those degree recipients were women.
Since the graduate programs at RMUoHP are primarily online school, so it is a great choice for returning adults and students who work full time.
AmeriTech College - Draper did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for nursing students to get a master’s degree. It came in at #8 on the list.
