This report analyzed 14 schools in Utah to see which ones were the most popular bachelor's degree programs for nursing students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from each school on the list.

Our 2023 rankings named Western Governors University the most popular school in Utah for nursing students working on their bachelor’s degree. WGU is a large private not-for-profit school situated in Salt Lake City, Utah. It awarded 24,230 bachelor’s degrees in 2021-2022.
WGU does not offer a discount to in-state students, so the average tuition and fees for all undergraduates is $8,010. This amount may be reduced if you receive financial aid. By the time they get their bachelor’s degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $16,244 in student loans. Around 68% of those degree recipients were women.
If you are interested in distance education, WGU is an excellent choice, since the school is online.
A rank of #2 on this year’s list means Weber State University is a great place for nursing students working on their bachelor’s degree. WSU is a public institution located in Ogden, Utah. The school has a large population, and it awarded 2,639 bachelor’s degrees in 2021-2022.
Students from Utah who attend WSU full time pay an average of $6,391 in tuition and fees. Out-of-state students pay an average of $17,084. Bachelor’s Degree recipients from WSU accumulate an average of $21,225 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Around 60% of those degree recipients were women.
One thing to take note of is that WSU does offer online classes in some areas. Of all the undergraduates enrolled at the school during the 2020-2021 academic year, around 47% took at least some of their classes online.
You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Dixie State University. It ranked #3 on our 2023 Most Popular Nursing Bachelor’s Degree Schools in Utah list. This fairly large public school is located in Saint George, Utah, and it awarded 1,229 bachelor’s degrees in 2021-2022.
In-state students pay an average of $6,074 in tuition and fees if they attend Dixie State College full time. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $17,642. Bachelor’s Degree recipients from Dixie State College accumulate an average of $20,130 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 59% were women.
Depending on your major, you may be able to take online classes at Dixie State College. In 2020-2021 about 39% of the undergraduate students at the school chose to take one or more online courses.
A rank of #4 on this year’s list means University of Utah is a great place for nursing students working on their bachelor’s degree. U of U is a public institution located in Salt Lake City, Utah. The school has a large population, and it awarded 5,498 bachelor’s degrees in 2021-2022.
The average in-state tuition and fees for students at U of U is $9,315. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $29,837. On average, bachelor’s degree students take out $20,009 in loans while pursuing their degree. Around 51% of those degree recipients were women.
You may have the opportunity to take online classes at U of U. In fact, around 75% of the undergraduate population registered for at least one online class in 2020-2021.
You’ll be in good company if you attend Nightingale College. The school came in at #5 on this year’s Most Popular Nursing Bachelor’s Degree Schools in Utah list. Nightingale College is a small private for-profit school located in Salt Lake City, Utah that handed out 295 bachelor’s degrees in 2021-2022.
On average, bachelor’s degree students take out $28,443 in loans while pursuing their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 86% were women.
Since Nightingale College is primarily an online school, it is an excellent choice for undergraduate students who need more flexibility than what is offered at some other schools.
AmeriTech College - Draper ranked #6 on this year’s Most Popular Nursing Bachelor’s Degree Schools in Utah list. This small private for-profit school is located in Draper, Utah, and it awarded 272 bachelor’s degrees in 2021-2022.
The average tuition and fees at AmeriTech College - Draper is $22,603. In-state students do not receive a discount, however you may be able to reduce your price if you receive financial aid. Bachelor’s Degree recipients from AmeriTech College - Draper accumulate an average of $28,184 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 85% were women.
One thing to take note of is that AmeriTech College - Draper does offer online classes in some areas. Of all the undergraduates enrolled at the school during the 2020-2021 academic year, around 89% took at least some of their classes online.
Brigham Young University - Provo ranked #7 on this year’s Most Popular Nursing Bachelor’s Degree Schools in Utah list. This large private not-for-profit school is located in Provo, Utah, and it awarded 6,562 bachelor’s degrees in 2021-2022.
On average, bachelor’s degree students take out $14,480 in loans while pursuing their degree. Around 52% of those degree recipients were women.
BYU does offer online classes for certain degree levels. During the 2020-2021 year, about 39% of the undergraduates at the school took at least one online course.
Utah Valley University did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for nursing students to get a bachelor’s degree. It came in at #9 on the list. This large public school is located in Orem, Utah, and it awarded 4,072 bachelor’s degrees in 2021-2022.
Full-time students from Utah pay an average of $6,270 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend UVU. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $17,830. On average, bachelor’s degree students take out $19,494 in loans while pursuing their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 49% were women.
Some students may be able to take online classes at UVU. To give an idea of how popular online courses are at the school, 57% of undergraduates took at least one course online in 2020-2021.
Westminster College Utah did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for nursing students to get a bachelor’s degree. It came in at #10 on the list. Westminster College Salt Lake is a private not-for-profit institution located in Salt Lake City, Utah. The school has a small population, and it awarded 437 bachelor’s degrees in 2021-2022.
If you don’t receive financial aid, you can expect a bill for $39,832 to cover tuition and fees at Westminster College Salt Lake. The school does not offer an in-state discount. By the time they get their bachelor’s degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $21,518 in student loans. Of those students who received their degree, 63% were women.
Some students may be able to take online classes at Westminster College Salt Lake. In fact, around 18% of the undergraduate population registered for at least one online class in 2020-2021.
Southern Utah University came in at #11 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Nursing Bachelor’s Degree Schools in Utah ranking. Cedar City, Utah is the setting for this fairly large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out bachelor’s degrees to 1,540 students in 2021-2022.
Students from Utah who attend Southern Utah University full time pay an average of $6,770 in tuition and fees. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $20,586. Bachelor’s Degree recipients from Southern Utah University accumulate an average of $14,571 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Around 59% of those degree recipients were women.

With a ranking of #12, Eagle Gate College - Layton did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for nursing students working on their bachelor’s degree. Eagle Gate College - Layton is located in Layton, Utah and has a very small student population. In 2021-2022, this school awarded 51 bachelor’s degrees to qualified students.
On average, bachelor’s degree students take out $43,348 in loans while pursuing their degree. Around 94% of those degree recipients were women.

Eagle Gate College - Murray came in at #13 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Nursing Bachelor’s Degree Schools in Utah ranking. Located in Murray, Utah, the very small private for-profit school handed out 52 bachelor’s degree awards in 2021-2022.
Bachelor’s Degree recipients from Eagle Gate College - Murray accumulate an average of $43,348 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Around 92% of those degree recipients were women.

Utah State University ranked #14 on this year’s Most Popular Nursing Bachelor’s Degree Schools in Utah list. USU is located in Logan, Utah and has a large student population. In 2021-2022, this school awarded 4,178 bachelor’s degrees to qualified students.
In-state students pay an average of $8,305 in tuition and fees if they attend USU full time. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $24,223. On average, bachelor’s degree students take out $17,126 in loans while pursuing their degree. Around 58% of those degree recipients were women.
Depending on your major, you may be able to take online classes at USU. Of all the undergraduates enrolled at the school during the 2020-2021 academic year, around 70% took at least some of their classes online.
