Our analysis looked at 13 schools in Maryland to see which bachelor's degree programs were the most popular for nursing students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from each school on the list.

Our 2023 rankings named University of Maryland - Baltimore the most popular school in Maryland for nursing students working on their bachelor’s degree. Located in Baltimore, Maryland, the medium-sized public school awarded 410 diplomas to qualifed bachelor’s degree students in 2021-2022.
The average in-state tuition and fees for students at UMB is $12,692. Out-of-state students pay an average of $42,654. Bachelor’s Degree recipients from UMB accumulate an average of $16,999 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Around 82% of those degree recipients were women.
One thing to take note of is that UMB does offer online classes in some areas. To give an idea of how popular online courses are at the school, 67% of undergraduates took at least one course online in 2020-2021.
You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Towson University. It ranked #2 on our 2023 Most Popular Nursing Bachelor’s Degree Schools in Maryland list. Towson is located in Towson, Maryland and has a fairly large student population. In 2021-2022, this school awarded 4,692 bachelor’s degrees to qualified students.
Full-time students from Maryland pay an average of $10,818 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend Towson. Out-of-state students pay an average of $26,820. Out of the 13 schools in Maryland that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Maryland Global Campus landed the # 3 spot on the list. University of Maryland Global Campus is a large public school located in Adelphi, Maryland that handed out 7,982 bachelor’s degrees in 2021-2022.
In-state students pay an average of $7,848 in tuition and fees if they attend UMGC full time. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $12,336. By the time they get their bachelor’s degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $22,533 in student loans. Of those students who received their degree, 47% were women.
UMGC does have options available for those who want to take online classes. You will need to check with the school to see if they are available for your specific major. To give an idea of how popular online courses are at the school, 93% of undergraduates took at least one course online in 2020-2021.
Out of the 13 schools in Maryland that were part of this year’s ranking, Stevenson University landed the # 4 spot on the list. Stevenson University is a small private not-for-profit school located in Owings Mills, Maryland that handed out 736 bachelor’s degrees in 2021-2022.
The average tuition and fees at Stevenson is $38,738. In-state students do not receive a discount, however you may be able to reduce your price if you receive financial aid. In-state students pay an average of $8,008 in tuition and fees if they attend Morgan State full time. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $18,480. Hood College did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for nursing students to get a bachelor’s degree. It came in at #12 on the list. Hood is located in Frederick, Maryland and has a small student population. In 2021-2022, this school awarded 235 bachelor’s degrees to qualified students.
If you don’t receive financial aid, you can expect a bill for $44,500 to cover tuition and fees at Hood. The school does not offer an in-state discount. By the time they get their bachelor’s degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $25,322 in student loans. Around 66% of those degree recipients were women.

With a ranking of #13, Johns Hopkins University did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for nursing students working on their bachelor’s degree. Located in Baltimore, Maryland, the large private not-for-profit school awarded 1,910 diplomas to qualifed bachelor’s degree students in 2021-2022.
Bachelor’s Degree recipients from Johns Hopkins accumulate an average of $20,436 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 54% were women.
