With a ranking of #7, Rivier University did quite well on this year’s best schools for nursing students working on their master’s degree.
One thing to take note of is that Rivier does offer online graduate classes in some areas. Of all the graduate students enrolled at the school during the 2019-2020 academic year, around 75% took at least some of their classes online.
Sacred Heart University did quite well in this year’s ranking of the best places for nursing students to get a master’s degree. It came in at #8 on the list.

Central Connecticut State University did quite well in this year’s ranking of the best places for nursing students to get a master’s degree. It came in at #9 on the list.
Online graduate courses are available at CCSU, but you will need to check with the school to see if they are available for your field of interest. In fact, around 95% of the graduate population registered for at least one online class in 2019-2020.
Simmons University ranked #10 on this year’s Best Nursing Master’s Degree Schools in the New England Region list.
If you are interested in distance education, Simmons is an excellent choice, since graduate classes are offered online.
With a ranking of #11, University of Connecticut did quite well on this year’s best schools for nursing students working on their master’s degree.

University of Rhode Island came in at #14 in this year’s edition of the Best Nursing Master’s Degree Schools in the New England Region ranking.

University of Saint Joseph did quite well in this year’s ranking of the best places for nursing students to get a master’s degree. It came in at #15 on the list.

University of Hartford landed the #16 spot in the 2023 rankings for the best master’s degree nursing programs.

Salve Regina University landed the #17 spot in the 2023 rankings for the best master’s degree nursing programs.

University of Massachusetts Amherst came in at #18 in this year’s edition of the Best Nursing Master’s Degree Schools in the New England Region ranking.

Granite State College ranked #19 on this year’s Best Nursing Master’s Degree Schools in the New England Region list.

Northeastern University Professional Advancement Network came in at #20 in this year’s edition of the Best Nursing Master’s Degree Schools in the New England Region ranking.

University of New Hampshire - Main Campus ranked #21 on this year’s Best Nursing Master’s Degree Schools in the New England Region list.

American International College ranked #22 on this year’s Best Nursing Master’s Degree Schools in the New England Region list.
Depending on your major, you may be able to take online graduate classes at AIC. In fact, around 14% of the graduate population registered for at least one online class in 2019-2020.
With a ranking of #23, University of Massachusetts - Boston did quite well on this year’s best schools for nursing students working on their master’s degree.

Saint Joseph’s College of Maine landed the #24 spot in the 2023 rankings for the best master’s degree nursing programs.
Saint Joseph’s Maine is one of the schools on our list that is primarily online. Each graduate student at the school took at least one class online.
Franklin Pierce University did quite well in this year’s ranking of the best places for nursing students to get a master’s degree. It came in at #25 on the list.
