Our 2023 rankings named Otterbein University the best school in Ohio for nursing students working on their doctor’s degree.
Online graduate courses are available at Otterbein, but you will need to check with the school to see if they are available for your field of interest. In fact, around 55% of the graduate population registered for at least one online class in 2019-2020.
You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around you if you attend Case Western Reserve University. The school came in at #2 on this year’s Best Nursing Doctor’s Degree Schools in Ohio list.

Lourdes University came in at #6 in this year’s edition of the Best Nursing Doctor’s Degree Schools in Ohio ranking.
Some students may be able to take online graduate classes at Lourdes. During the 2019-2020 year, about 61% of the graduate students at the school took at least one online course.
University of Cincinnati - Main Campus came in at #7 in this year’s edition of the Best Nursing Doctor’s Degree Schools in Ohio ranking.
One thing to take note of is that UC does offer online graduate classes in some areas. Of all the graduate students enrolled at the school during the 2019-2020 academic year, around 82% took at least some of their classes online.
University of Toledo landed the #8 spot in the 2023 rankings for the best doctor’s degree nursing programs.
You may have the opportunity to take online graduate classes at University of Toledo. Of all the graduate students enrolled at the school during the 2019-2020 academic year, around 29% took at least some of their classes online.
Ashland University ranked #9 on this year’s Best Nursing Doctor’s Degree Schools in Ohio list.

With a ranking of #10, Ohio University - Athens Campus did quite well on this year’s best schools for nursing students working on their doctor’s degree.

University of Akron Main Campus came in at #11 in this year’s edition of the Best Nursing Doctor’s Degree Schools in Ohio ranking.
University of Akron Main Campus does have options available for those who want to take online graduate classes. You will need to check with the school to see if they are available for your specific major. In 2019-2020 about 80% of the graduate students at the school chose to take one or more online courses.
Mount St. Joseph University did quite well in this year’s ranking of the best places for nursing students to get a doctor’s degree. It came in at #12 on the list.
Depending on your major, you may be able to take online graduate classes at Mount St. Joe. During the 2019-2020 year, about 22% of the graduate students at the school took at least one online course.
