Our 2023 rankings named Western Governors University the best school in Utah for nursing students working on their bachelor’s degree. WGU is a private not-for-profit institution located in Salt Lake City, Utah. The school has a large population, and it awarded 24,230 bachelor’s degrees in 2021-2022.
If you want to attend WGU, expect to pay an average of $8,010 in tuition and fees. Of course, this could be reduced if you receive financial aid. By the time they get their bachelor’s degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $16,244 in student loans.
Interested in an online degree? Then you definitely want to check out WGU. Every undergraduate student at the school took at least one class online.
You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Utah State University. It ranked #2 on our 2023 Best Nursing Bachelor’s Degree Schools in Utah list. Located in Logan, Utah, the large public school awarded 4,178 diplomas to qualifed bachelor’s degree students in 2021-2022.
In-state students pay an average of $8,305 in tuition and fees if they attend USU full time. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $24,223. On average, bachelor’s degree students take out $17,126 in loans while pursuing their degree.

Located in Salt Lake City, Utah, the small private not-for-profit school handed out 437 bachelor’s degree awards in 2021-2022.
The average tuition and fees at Westminster College Salt Lake is $39,832. In-state students do not receive a discount, however you may be able to reduce your price if you receive financial aid. University of Utah is a large public school located in Salt Lake City, Utah that handed out 5,498 bachelor’s degrees in 2021-2022.

Utah Valley University came in at #6 in this year’s edition of the Best Nursing Bachelor’s Degree Schools in Utah ranking. This large public school is located in Orem, Utah, and it awarded 4,072 bachelor’s degrees in 2021-2022.
Full-time students from Utah pay an average of $6,270 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend UVU. Out-of-state students pay an average of $17,830. On average, bachelor’s degree students take out $19,494 in loans while pursuing their degree.
One thing to take note of is that UVU does offer online classes in some areas. Of all the undergraduates enrolled at the school during the 2020-2021 academic year, around 57% took at least some of their classes online.
Weber State University landed the #7 spot in the 2023 rankings for the best bachelor’s degree nursing programs. Ogden, Utah is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out bachelor’s degrees to 2,639 students in 2021-2022.
In-state students pay an average of $6,391 in tuition and fees if they attend WSU full time. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $17,084. Bachelor’s Degree recipients from WSU accumulate an average of $21,225 in student debt by the time they complete their degree.
One thing to take note of is that WSU does offer online classes in some areas. Of all the undergraduates enrolled at the school during the 2020-2021 academic year, around 47% took at least some of their classes online.
Dixie State University did quite well in this year’s ranking of the best places for nursing students to get a bachelor’s degree. It came in at #8 on the list. Dixie State College is a fairly large public school situated in Saint George, Utah. It awarded 1,229 bachelor’s degrees in 2021-2022.
Full-time students from Utah pay an average of $6,074 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend Dixie State College. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $17,642. By the time they get their bachelor’s degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $20,130 in student loans.
Online courses are available at Dixie State College, but you will need to check with the school to see if they are available for your field of interest. In 2020-2021 about 39% of the undergraduate students at the school chose to take one or more online courses.
Eagle Gate College - Murray came in at #9 in this year’s edition of the Best Nursing Bachelor’s Degree Schools in Utah ranking. Located in Murray, Utah, the very small private for-profit school awarded 52 diplomas to qualifed bachelor’s degree students in 2021-2022.
Bachelor’s Degree recipients from Eagle Gate College - Murray accumulate an average of $43,348 in student debt by the time they complete their degree.
You may have the opportunity to take online classes at Eagle Gate College - Murray. In fact, around 94% of the undergraduate population registered for at least one online class in 2020-2021.
Southern Utah University ranked #10 on this year’s Best Nursing Bachelor’s Degree Schools in Utah list. This fairly large public school is located in Cedar City, Utah, and it awarded 1,540 bachelor’s degrees in 2021-2022.
The average in-state tuition and fees for students at Southern Utah University is $6,770. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $20,586. By the time they get their bachelor’s degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $14,571 in student loans.
Depending on your major, you may be able to take online classes at Southern Utah University. During the 2020-2021 year, about 51% of the undergraduates at the school took at least one online course.
With a ranking of #12, Eagle Gate College - Layton did quite well on this year’s best schools for nursing students working on their bachelor’s degree. This very small private for-profit school is located in Layton, Utah, and it awarded 51 bachelor’s degrees in 2021-2022.
