To assist you in seeing some of the education options that are available to you, Nursing Degree Search has created its Best Value Nursing Schools in New York ranking. Our analysis looked at 100 schools in New York to see which programs offered the best value experiences for nursing students with the aim of identifying those quality schools that are more affordable than some of their counterparts.
Our ranking of value is based on the quality of a program as defined in our per sticker price dollar. More specifically, we discount our quality score by the published tuition and fees charged by a school. This gives the cost per unit of quality for each college. The value is determined by how much quality your dollar buys.
In our regional and nationwide rankings, out-of-state tution and fees are used in our calculations. Average in-state tuition and fees are used for our statewide rankings.

Top 15% Best Nursing Schools
Our analysis found Bronx Community College to be the best value school for nursing students who want to pursue a degree in New York. BCC is a moderately-sized public school located in the large city of Bronx.
The average tuition and fees for an in-state undergraduate at BCC are $5,206 a year. While working on their degree, nursing majors at BCC accumulate an average of around $18,502 in student debt.

The excellent programs at The Graduate Center, CUNY helped the school earn the #3 place on this year’s ranking of the best nursing schools in New York. Located in the city of New York, The Graduate Center is a public school with a medium-sized student population.
In-state tuition fees for undergraduate students at The Graduate Center are $7,410 per year. While working on their degree, nursing majors at The Graduate Center accumulate an average of around $17,170 in student debt.

With a ranking of #9, Kingsborough Community College did quite well on this year’s best value schools for nursing students. Located in the city of Brooklyn, KCC is a public school with a large student population.

Farmingdale State College did quite well in this year’s ranking of the best value schools for nursing students. It came in at #12 on the list. Located in the suburb of Farmingdale, SUNY College of Technology at Farmingdale is a public college with a moderately-sized student population.

College of Staten Island CUNY landed the #15 spot in the 2023 rankings for the best value nursing programs. CSI is a fairly large public school located in the large city of Staten Island.
CSI undergraduate students pay an average of $7,490 in in-state tuition and fees each year. The average amount in student loans that nursing majors at CSI take out is $15,731.
