To assist you in seeing some of the education options that are available to you, Nursing Degree Search has created its Best Value Nursing Schools in New York ranking. Our analysis looked at 100 schools in New York to see which programs offered the best value experiences for nursing students with the aim of identifying those quality schools that are more affordable than some of their counterparts.
Our ranking of value is based on the quality of a program as defined in our per sticker price dollar. More specifically, we discount our quality score by the published tuition and fees charged by a school. This gives the cost per unit of quality for each college. The value is determined by how much quality your dollar buys.
In our regional and nationwide rankings, out-of-state tution and fees are used in our calculations. Average in-state tuition and fees are used for our statewide rankings.

Top 15% Best Nursing Schools
Our 2023 rankings named Bronx Community College the best value school in New York for nursing students. BCC is a moderately-sized public school located in the city of Bronx.
In-state tuition fees for undergraduate students at BCC are $5,206 per year. While working on their degree, nursing majors at BCC accumulate an average of around $18,502 in student debt.
BCC excels when it comes to quality. It’s ranked in the top 10% of all schools on our Best Nursing Schools in New York list.
You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around you if you attend LaGuardia Community College. The school came in at #2 on this year’s Best Value Nursing Schools in New York list. Located in the large city of Long Island City, LaGuardia is a public school with a large student population.

Out of the 100 schools in New York that were part of this year’s ranking, The Graduate Center, CUNY landed the # 3 spot on the list. Located in the large city of New York, The Graduate Center is a public school with a moderately-sized student population.
In-state tuition fees for undergraduate students at The Graduate Center are $7,410 per year. While working on their degree, nursing majors at The Graduate Center accumulate an average of around $17,170 in student debt.

Out of the 100 schools in New York that were part of this year’s ranking, SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University landed the # 4 spot on the list. Located in the city of Brooklyn, SUNY Downstate is a public college with a small student population.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Suffolk County Community College. It ranked #5 on our 2023 Best Value Nursing Schools in New York list. Suffolk County Community College is a fairly large public school located in the suburb of Selden.

Cochran School of Nursing did quite well in this year’s ranking of the best value schools for nursing students. It came in at #8 on the list. Located in the suburb of Yonkers, Cochran School of Nursing is a private not-for-profit school with a fairly small student population.
In-state tuition fees for undergraduate students at Cochran School of Nursing are $10,020 per year. After completing their degree, nursing graduates from Cochran School of Nursing carry an average student debtload of $26,219.
With a ranking of #9, Kingsborough Community College did quite well on this year’s best value schools for nursing students. Located in the city of Brooklyn, KCC is a public school with a large student population.
The average tuition and fees for an in-state undergraduate at KCC are $5,252 a year. While working on their degree, nursing majors at KCC accumulate an average of around $9,500 in student debt.

Orange County Community College came in at #10 in this year’s edition of the Best Value Nursing Schools in New York ranking. SUNY Orange is a medium-sized public school located in the small city of Middletown.
The average tuition and fees for an in-state undergraduate at SUNY Orange are $6,094 a year. Nursing majors at SUNY Orange take out an average of $23,000 in student loans while working on their egree.
Hostos Community College landed the #11 spot in the 2023 rankings for the best value nursing programs. Hostos is a moderately-sized public school located in the large city of Bronx.
The average tuition and fees for an in-state undergraduate at Hostos are $5,208 a year. After completing their degree, nursing graduates from Hostos carry an average student debtload of $12,250.
With a ranking of #12, Borough of Manhattan Community College did quite well on this year’s best value schools for nursing students. Located in the large city of New York, BMCC is a public school with a large student population.
BMCC undergraduate students pay an average of $5,170 in in-state tuition and fees each year. After completing their degree, nursing graduates from BMCC carry an average student debtload of $13,474.

Farmingdale State College landed the #12 spot in the 2023 rankings for the best value nursing programs. Located in the large suburb of Farmingdale, SUNY College of Technology at Farmingdale is a public college with a medium-sized student population.
SUNY College of Technology at Farmingdale undergraduate students pay an average of $8,576 in in-state tuition and fees each year. After completing their degree, nursing graduates from SUNY College of Technology at Farmingdale carry an average student debtload of $20,250.

Genesee Community College landed the #14 spot in the 2023 rankings for the best value nursing programs. GCC is a small public school located in the town of Batavia.

College of Staten Island CUNY landed the #15 spot in the 2023 rankings for the best value nursing programs. CSI is a large public school located in the city of Staten Island.
The average tuition and fees for an in-state undergraduate at CSI are $7,490 a year. The average amount in student loans that nursing majors at CSI take out is $15,731.
